Good morning, Mesa.
Salad and Go plans a Mesa comeback
Salad and Go’s new owners are planning Mesa and Gilbert reopenings, putting the restaurant’s return on the calendar without a confirmed Mesa opening date.
Key facts
- Mesa and Gilbert are named in the reopening plans reported October 22 by What Now Phoenix.
- The new owners hope to reopen their first East Valley restaurant before the end of 2026.
- That target applies to the first East Valley reopening; it does not establish when a Mesa location will reopen.
What to watch: a confirmed Mesa address and opening date. Read the reopening report.
Around the corner
🏗️ A 37-acre shopping center heads to review. Gateway Crossing proposes roughly 360,895 square feet of commercial development at Williams Field Road and the AZ 24 Gateway Freeway. The site is in southeast Mesa, beyond this edition’s usual downtown and west-side focus, but the proposal’s scale makes it a citywide development to follow.
The Planning and Zoning Board is scheduled to consider the proposal October 28. City staff recommends approval with conditions; the proposal is still under review, with no opening date provided. Project narrative, case ZON25-00660.
